LADKE (2023). A UCLA TFT Senior Thesis written/directed by Sruchi Patel. Ladke is a reimagined modern Cinderella story, centering on South Asian romantic leads, Saloni and Hari. My vision for the production design was to have subtle nods to classic romantic comedy films whether it was with posters, colors, or lighting. Staying true to representing South Asian culture, I consulted with my director on ways to integrate this into the design. Almost everything in the film was ethically sourced. I second-hand sourced and borrowed most of the decor and what needed to be bought was purchased from small POC/woman-owned businesses.
